Sade in Hollandse Kombuise is a 65-minute one-woman production performed in a blend of English and Afrikaans. The play follows Susan Fokkens, a young woman wrestling with identity, language, privilege, and belonging in contemporary South Africa.
Through storytelling, humour, memory, and music — including references to Fokofpolisiekar — Susan excavates her family history and confronts difficult questions around Afrikaner identity, accountability, and coexistence.
Blending satire, personal reflection, and social commentary, the production explores what it means to exist unapologetically while reckoning with the past.
