DISORDER is a psychological family drama set inside a deteriorating South African home where survival has become performance and truth has become dangerous. The Skhumba family are known publicly as symbols of resilience. Led by the charismatic and fiercely protective Nomazwe Skhumba, the family has built a public identity around hardship, sacrifice, and survival. Cameras document their daily life. Their story attracts sympathy. Their suffering attracts attention but inside the house another reality exists. The walls hold memories. Rooms carry secrets. Red camera lights glow like witnesses.
The family home transforms throughout the production into a reality-show set, confession booth, memory chamber, courtroom, and crime scene — reflecting a family whose private pain has become public currency. At the center of the story are four daughters carrying different expressions of trauma. As the family’s carefully constructed image begins to fracture, hidden histories emerge exploitation disguised as love, survival built on manipulation, and inherited violence that
stretches beyond one generation.
